What is the Political Courage Test?

Ohio Congressional Election 2024 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Yes Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget?
No Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs?
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
Our Constitution is based upon the premise of individual liberty. Businesses and Unions should not be afforded the same rights because when an individual liberty is violated, a business or union should not supersede those of the individual American. Citizens United landmark case in 2010 should be revisited.
Yes Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
There is a lot of waste in what we currently spend. I think we can spend this money smarter, more accountably and for the right things. Not for woke programming (as an example).
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)?
No Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs?
Yes Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
The inflation is a result of their current over-spending actions and we need to correct this.
No Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Yes Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
Voting is for American citizens, NOT illegals.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)?
No Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Yes Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)?
Yes Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs?
This isn't a job of the federal government. Free markets should and could correct this. The Health Care system is a mess right now and needs to be reformed and the process for approving prescription drugs is prohibitive for market entry. For Ohio, I would say that the Insulin regulation is helpful for now as a stop gap until we fix the overall system, but we need to get government out of this process as soon as possible.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status?
They broke the law entering our country and need to come here lawfully.
Yes Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
No Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
I do support continued efforts to help Ukraine maintain their Democracy and we should continue with current efforts to aid them with military intelligence, security and weapons. However, we have given a vast amount of money to Ukraine and we have not had assurances for the American people this money has been spent wisely. So, no more funding until we get accountability! When the AP reported $40 million US dollars has been stolen, we need to correct this before continuing to dole out the unaccounted for money. Also, under President Trump, I'd argue Ukraine would not have been in trouble due to President Trump's position on "Peace through Strength". This is a complete failure of the Biden Administration.
Yes Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)?
These platforms are devastating our next generation. They are addictive and they are indoctrinating youth and our children's mental health is at stake. Some of these platforms are inherently giving information to our enemies. We need to regulate these dangerous and harmful platforms to protect our children immediately.
Reduce the Administrative State - Day 1 Shut down Department of Education, reduce and reorganize other Federally bloated agencies Reduce Spending and repeal taxation - Get a handle on where our money is going and have it be accounted for before agreeing to additional spending Increase Stimulation for America owned and based businesses by reducing regulations and enabling more free market competition - hold multi-national organizations accountable and break up monopolies and federal agencies that barrier free market entry
